"Almost wasn't," she whispers, holding onto him tighter, closing her eyes and remembering the familiar feel of his arms around her.

She'd almost forgotten. Hadn't let herself think about it too much, because she couldn't miss him too.

After a few moments she leans up to press her lips against his shoulder and moves so that she's almost in his lap.
