She had no idea it could feel this way and for a moment just luxuriates in the sensation.

She's so wrapped up in her work that she doesn't notice the door open.

She takes a shaky breath and lets it out, trying not to be afraid.

A small smile on Mesaana's face. Icy blue eyes watching her calmly. This was easier than she had thought it would be. It was only a matter of time till she controlled Kim like she did Astoreth.

"Whenever you would like, Lady Kim."

Mesaana stood up from her seat by the bed, and walked over to the portal. Calmly stretching out a hand, she spoke softly.

"It is often very odd for people their first time through a Gateway."

Kim stands, wary but knowing this is necessary.

"What is it like?"

A delicate windchime laugh, and an amused tone in Mesaana's voice.

"It is no different than any other step. People expect there to be something, but there isn't. That is why it is odd."

For a moment, Selae's laugh reminds her of Nina and she mentally shakes herself, reminding herself that it's just appearance, it doesn't mean anything.

"Should I bring anything?"

Mesaana considered if she would need clothes and toiletries, and decided that she had seen her bathroom, and that it would be best to provide for Kim.

"No, I will provide you with anything you might need."

She looks at the gateway and then back at her teacher. "Should I leave a note?"

Mesaana shrugged calmly. Icy blue eyes watching Kim carefully.

"Why bother? You will be here every day to them."

She nods, hoping that her teacher's right.

Almost cautiously she walks up to the gateway, expecting it to pull her in or to feel wind or...anything. But she takes another breath, steps through and...is somewhere else entirely.

She glances back at her room and down at the white floor.

Mesaana steps through after her. A small smile on her face as she watched Kim carefully. The wonder on the girl's face was amusing.

The Gateway winked shut behind her, and the glow of Saidar disappeared from around her.

"Welcome to the Second Age, Lady Kim."
