She can't hold eye contact for very long, glancing away and finding evidence of other bruises, seeing ligature marks around his wrists and she breathes through her mouth, trying not to think about what could have happened to him.
It's easier to focus on his face and there's something familiar about him, details coming to light like waiting for a picture on a slow server, and she freezes as the synapses connect.
