Kim's crying subsides and Chris, unable to see into the living room, watches Jack's reactions to understand what is going on. His whole body seems to tense and for a second, she thinks he's going to rush into the room. But he doesn't.
She startles as another door opens and even more people enter the house.
Her blood runs cold as she hears a man with heavy accent speak. "It's nice of you to join us, Jack."
Chris looks at Jack beside her and notices a look of shock on his face but he doesn't move and no one enters the darkened dining room where they're standing.
Then another voice from the living room, one she recognizes because it's Jack's voice, answers.
"Let her go, Ramón. You have me, you don't need her anymore."
Suddenly, the look of shock on Jack's face makes more sense.
