Kim and Chase come upstairs after dinner. She grins as she opens the door. "Can you wait a moment? I'm going to go change into something more comfortable..."

She leaves him in the bedroom and slips into the bathroom to put on some skimpy lingerie the bar gave her earlier. On top of that, she throws on a cotton robe.

"You know, I'm not sure how much I feel like practicing tonight..." she says, looking down, trying to hide a smile.

He's past caring about marks and scratches--not past feeling them; his senses are too heightened and he feels every little dig of her nails on his skin and loves it.

He wraps his arms around her and lays his head on her shoulder. He doesn't mind if she cries, as long as they're happy tears...there's been too much scared and lonely and upset and miserable lately and just having her back is the best thing he could have dreamed of.

He's heavier than her and has a good few inches on her in terms of height but she doesn't want to move. However...

"Pillows are up that way," she whispers.

"I know." He laughs softly against her shoulder.

After a lazy moment, he sits up to crawl under the covers, taking her hand to pull her gently with him.

She laughs a little in return and gladly moves to almost wrap herself around him. She's not usually clingy but for some reason right now she needs to be held. She rests her head against his chest and closes her eyes.

He's glad of that. He wants to be close to her now; he hasn't been able to hold her like this since before he can even remember...since before he returned from having his memory wiped.

He hugs her tightly, exhales quietly and nestles close against her to fall asleep.

"Thank you," he whispers.

She lifts her head a little to give him a tired smile. "Happy Birthday, Chase," she presses a light kiss to his shoulder and closes her eyes again.

He snuggles into the covers and drifts off to sleep.
