Kim's looking in the mirror.

She misses having blonde hair. The red hair still isn't familiar. If she turns quickly she sometimes doesn't recognize herself.

The door to the room opens and she hears Chris's voice.

She knows it's time to be alone. Or at least to try to be alone.

"He said that he didn't think my dad would react that way and he was sorry."

"React what way?"

[agirllost]

"He'd been...hurt," she closes her eyes as the memory floods back, running to the interrogation room and not being allowed in and the blood and screaming and the armed guards keeping her back and that look in her dad's eyes...

"Your father was hurt?"

[agirllost]

She shakes her head a little, "Not dad, Chase."

"Oh," Chris says with a nod.

"Did Chase ever tell you why he did it?"

"No, just that he was sorry and he didn't think that dad would react by...interrogating him."

Chris makes a "hmm" sound as she purses her lips. She'd like to find out more about this alternate universe and figure out why Kim seemed to have absorbed into it instead of realizing it was seperate from her own dimension. Was it some simple psychological trauma like fugue or something more?

"I talked to Elaine, if you want, she can stay with you for a few days."

"If I haven't...thank you, Chris. For...being here."

She looks down at her hands again, "I feel kind of guilty, I'm not sick, there's nothing physically wrong with me..."

"There's nothing to feel guilty about," Chris says gently, "You've been through a lot."

"I went to see him yesterday." She says quickly.

It takes a second for Chris to figure out who "he" is.

"How'd that go?"

She rubs her forehead a little, "Painfully."

She assumed as much.

"Hopefully, it'll get easier with time."

"I know he's not a ghost. But I think he's my dad's twin. Which doesn't make any sense because I don't think he had one. But he thinks he's my dad so I'm just...confused."

"You remember your past here, don't you?"

[agirllost]

Kim nods, looking down at her bare feet. "Most of it, but I don't see how parts of it are possible."

"Lots of things that defy logic are possible here," Chris says with a small smile.

"I kind of get that feeling," Kim rubs the back of her left hand. "I...I think I hurt him."

"Why do you think that?"

"Because he looked sad."

"If you don't mind me asking, what did you say?"

"I told him that..." she frowns as she tries to remember. "I told him that I didn't know who he was and I don't."

"Well," Chris searches for something to say, "I'm sure he understands, I think it's just a difficult time for both of you."

Kim nods, she rubs a few strands of hair between her fingers. "Do you think the bar has hair dye?"
